April First Friday

This week I am really excited to be getting ready for my first Friday art show. The show, which I have titled Patterns, will be this Friday April 5th at The Black Box Cafe in Scranton from 6-9 pm.

I have been doing a lot in the past few days to get ready for the show. I started out by writing a bio and a show description. More recently I have been working on titles and prices for all of my work, and I have had to narrow down exactly which pieces I want to bring. That has been the hardest part. I have a lot of work and limited amount of space, it is hard to decide what to leave behind. I have also been rounding up display easels and transporting work from home to my dorm room, which is now so full of work that paintings are just leaning in stacks against the walls.

One of the things that I think is going to be most interesting about the show is that I have decided to bring my first pattern painting, from 2017, and a few of the other earlier ones. This way viewers will be able to see the evolution of the paintings over time. The patterns started out with just stripes and dashes, now the recent ones have become more complicated with floral and lacy patterns.
