I chose Marywood because I wanted to explore different options then what was offered to me in my home state of New Jersey. Marywood also has a MFA program which I will be taking part of in the Summer of 2021.

I am majoring in Art because I like to draw and create things that are pretty and create to look at. Through schooling I hope to reach a level where I can one day become an art educator and assist other artist.

When I’m not in class, I’m at home with my several pets. I have two dogs, a Miniature Schnauzer and a Parson Russell Terrier. I also have 3 pet rats, a 20 gallon fish tank with several fish, and one gerbil. I Iike to play online video games with my friends and practice drawing at home.

So far, my favorite art class at Marywood was Package Design because it is very different from what I normally do, and it was a refreshing change of pace working on 3D projects. I use 2D methods normally. It also requires using marketing techniques which are always practical to know. I really liked doing the gum packaging project because in the project you need to showcase a famous artist for a limited edition version. I chose Mucha and the package I made was so colorful and elegant I was very happy with it.

The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood so far was making connections with my fellow classmates and professors. I believe that the experience I have gain from my time here is invaluable.

When I graduate with my BA, I will begin pursuing my masters degree at Marywood starting in the Summer of 2021 as part of the “Get Your Masters with the Masters” low residency MFA for Working Professionals and Educators in Graphic Design and Illustration.

I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because the curriculum truly assist and prepares the student for the art industry.
