NEPA 10th Annual Film Festival

From April 10th through April 12th, 2026, the NEPA Film Committee hosted its 10th annual film festival. While the festival was centered around films, the event is ultimately about uniting creative minds, offering a space to connect, collaborate, and share their talents and work.

The festival kicked off Friday evening with an opening reception hosted by Jeremy Lewan from WNEP, setting the tone for a weekend full of energy, collaboration, and storytelling. From that point on, each day was packed with private screenings ranging from comedy to horror, along with award presentations recognizing the work of talented filmmakers.

One of the most rewarding parts of the weekend was seeing how many local production groups were involved, including Scranton Films and Funpants Film Co. Many talented directors and filmmakers received rewards to recognize their talents as well, as many actors which was well deserved. Being surrounded by people who are actively creating and supporting independent film made the experience even more impactful an inspirational.

Overall, the NEPA Film Festival was more than just a a showcase of films, it was a reminder of how much creativity exists within our community. Being able to capture it all from behind the lens was an experience I won’t forget, and one that continues to inspire where I want to go next in both photography and film.
