Two guest bloggers, student Camila Castellari and professor Abby Oxford, share their peaceful artistic reflections on summer moments.
This summer I have spent my days finding as many moments of peace as I can. After a busy semester, it’s been wonderful to just be mindful and observe nature in the moment. That is what inspired me to create this needle-felted piece depicting a baby deer relaxing in the underbrush, simply enjoying the comfort nature provides.
I’ve been enjoying many moments immersed in nature this summer too. I primarily work in 3d creating jewelry, however, I had fun exploring a new metallic water color palette this summer. It was very relaxing to break away from my normal medium and play around with paint!
How about you? Did you find a peaceful place among nature this summer? Did you try out a new art medium? Let us know by replying here below or share in person when we’re back on campus in a couple weeks!
