Hello everyone!
Happy Fourth of July to all who celebrated the 250th birthday of the United States this past weekend! I hope you all had amazing time with family, friends, and good food!
With so much going on with the holiday, as well as my summer job, I have honestly not had much time to work on my art. I’ve been trying to work on a few things in my freetime, but to be honest, my exhaustion has gotten the better of me. What I have worked on has been little, but still fun!
I have been working more on my Angel of the Fallen, and I am getting closer to its end. I wanted to have it done for the start of Artfight, but I think it is going to be quite a bit late. I have started working on texture and shading, which has been fun and relaxing. Most notably, I have been impressed by how my Figure Drawing classes have improved the way I see the anatomical form, even in my personal works. I still have a pretty long way to go, but I am looking forward to it.
In addition, I have also been working on a painting! I have not actually started painting, but the sketch is down. I am painting a flower that I had taken a picture of while at Marywood this spring. I thought the way the morning dew was on the flower was gorgeous and I wanted to capture that morning “time,” if that makes sense. I have not been able to progress, as I cannot decide if I want to make it an oil piece or an acrylic piece. On the one hand, I feel like I should work on practicing my oil painting and I love the forgiving nature of oil paint. On the other hand, I really don’t want to have to use the stand oil and find more rags to use for my brushes. Both have their pros and cons, and I am stuck going back and forth between the two media. Decision paralysis is my biggest opposition as of right now
