Hello! Today I wanted to share some of the posters I made for my lesson plans. As a teacher, it’s important to incorporate visuals into lessons for diverse learning. Especially in art, which is a highly visual subject. A lot of times, teachers feel too overwhelmed to create their own posters and look to other sources like AI. To a certain extent, I get it. Nevertheless, I wanted to show that making these informational posters does not have to be complicated and time-consuming.
In one of my Art Education classes, we have to create a Unit Plan. My Unit Plan is based on the Elements of Art, starting with Line. For the project, students will use implied line to write their name. The second project involves Shape and Space. A basic explanation is that students will create an image using positive and negative space.
All of these took less than 1 hour, and I had fun making them. To make it extra simple, I only used one brush in Procreate, varying the thickness/pressure. I also used the text feature which saved time compared to hand lettering. I was able to create specific examples that tied directly to my lessons. Of course, showcasing an artist using these techniques is also an important aspect of teaching art. However, these examples are useful for specifically explaining what I would want my students to do. And they add some of my own personality to my classroom.
I highly recommend making personalized class material/posters. It can be easily edited and tailored to exactly what you need. I hope this can serve as some inspiration to start creating your own resources for your classroom.
Thanks for reading!
