I’m back again to talk about the stuff I’ve been up to! There won’t be as much volume as last post, thank goodness. I’m just glad it’s break and I have a brief respite from all these assignments.
Sculpture Progress
Back at it on this stained glass, it has become clear that practice is going to be integral to this process. I’ve started cutting out pattern pieces and attaching them to the glass. I’m hopeful I won’t waste too much on my mistakes. For the moment, this is all I’ve done so far.
History of Visual Communications
Aside from my sculpture progress, I have finished the bunny image from last blog as well. The linear is still sketchy, but the colors are in place and I’m quite happy with it overall.
After this, we also had a Russian Constructivism assignment. I have a few changes I want to make on it. The background needs a little changing and the font needs to be a bit more Russian Constructivist.
The experience making it was very fun as well! Sometimes Illustrator decides to work with me and not against me.
2D Animation
Our assignment for 2D animation was to create an animation that starts and ends with this dot:
We would then edit all of these animations into one big “Animation Jam” where each one flows into the other. I chose to make the dot into an isopod (or rollie pollie, if you prefer). It was super cool seeing all the animations together!
I also made a little video as I was scrolling through the frames because it looked like he was dancing.
Overall, this animation is probably my favorite of the projects I’ve worked on this week.
Communication & Conceptual Design
We’ve been continuing our nonprofit design project in this class. We had to create stationary for our nonprofit. I went fun and whimsical with mine since it’s animal based. I have to change the business card up, but I’m still pretty happy with how it came out…
Overall, I’ve had a lot of fun making all these items, but I’m very ready for this two day break. I’ll unfortunately still be working on one assignment and probably going back and fixing problems with old ones, I’ll be all caught up and ready for the short week. I look forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring!
More to come!
