This year on March 7th I will be having my second portfolio review as an undergraduate art major at Marywood University. For this week’s blog, I wanted to show the photos I will present for my review. Since this will be my second portfolio review as a photography major, I will have only photos in it.
For my portfolio, I wanted to show a mixture of different kinds of photography and techniques. I have examples of photojournalism, studio work, sports, and live musical performances. I enjoy taking any kind of portraits so I chose to include my favorite portraits that I have taken this year.
I also chose to include some photos where I experimented with my camera, like using the shutter drag effect to create colorful lines. I also tried panning and using a high shutter speed to stop action in my sports photography.
Overall, I am proud of what I have achieved in such a short period of time. Looking back at my old work from last year I can see an improvement! I have only been doing photography for about a year now and I first had my doubts that maybe photography wasn’t my thing, but I’m so glad that I didn’t quit and that I kept practicing to get to where I am now.
