Practicing Paperless Art

One of the most fundamental ways to improve one’s artwork is by practicing. With that said, I took it upon myself to practice my own artwork during these summer months. Most currently, I am dwelling mainly in digital art because it is the most accessible medium for me at my home. Moreover it is easy for me to take my iPad with me on summer trips so I can continue creating elsewhere.

Why I Love Digital Art:

Besides easy accessibility, there are many other reasons why I love digital content creation:

Access to various different tools, brushes, etc. Having a full digital toolbox allows me to experiment with different techniques, styles, and methods that may expedite the creative process.
Full color palette. Digital art grants me access to the entire color wheel as well as a color selector; therefore, I can easily use any color I desire.
Unlimited resources (ex. not running dry on paint).
Easy to share across social media platforms. I love sharing my artwork with others whether that be physically or through social media.
The magical “undo” button. If I ever make a mistake… I can select “undo”.

What I Use To Create:

iPad Air: I chose Apple for creating digital art because they are a reliable company and consumer friendly. Also, I chose the “Air” model for my iPad because it is lightweight and easy to transport.
Apple Pen: I cannot stress enough how much I recommend Apple Pen when using an iPad. The Apple Pen, magnetically connects and charges to the iPad, it is easy to handle, and it has pressure sensitivity.
Sketchbook Pro: After watching a few tutorial and experimenting on my own time, Sketchbook is a really easy software to understand. I feel it has everything you need and it does not require a monthly membership. Also, you have the option to download more tools online!
