Saying Goodbye

Unfortunately, my time as a student blogger for Where Creativity Works has come to an end, as it is now the time to pass down the baton to the next Photography blogger, Kailey Rillstone. I have been with the blog since August 2024. As much as I am sad to leave, I am thankful for this experience! I had a great time writing for the blog, and I look forward to seeing the blog’s future.

For my last blog post here, I’ll show my final projects of the semester. For ART-319 Photography as a Means of Self Expression, we photographed photos that represented us.

I had a lot of fun doing these last few assignments because I felt that we didn’t get to think conceptually in some of my other photography classes. This was a good way to practice the artistic side of photography. I also got to experiment more with using Photoshop in these assignments.

In ART-317B Advertising and Illustrative Photography, we were assigned a photo story. It could be a collection of photos that stood strong on their own, so I chose to do five black and white portraits. Since my time is running out before I graduate, I wanted to use the studio as much as possible before I leave.

Overall, this is a bittersweet moment for me. I can’t believe how fast time went. I still feel like yesterday I was a sophomore declaring my major in photography. I feel proud of myself for how quickly my progress has improved over the years.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey, and I would like to thank my professors, Sue Jenkins, Peter Nardone, and Aimee Dilger for supporting me over these years. I would also like to thank Julie Potter for helping me with my photography skills. I met her my freshman year when I joined Shutterbugs Photography Club, and she helped me fall in love with what I do.
