Star Book

This was one of my favorite books to create. Not only was the process of this book fun, but there were so many steps to release built up creative freedom! I First made two linocuts of two frogs for the insides, and covers of my star book. The front and back cover have a dark sage green fabric binded onto the cover, with a mix of three colored strings twisted for a visual interest, and to tie the book closed. On the front and back covers are two different frog prints, with a metal type saying frog, and froggy.

I measured and picked out my four colors of paper for each layer of the star. The first layer is blue, the second is green, and the third layer is two colors. Every other row has a pale yellow paper and the other has light green, with both frog linocuts printed on alternating each color.

I love how this book looks open, and closed. It was so fun to create, and the learning process along the way taught me so much about book making, and printmaking.
