Welcome back everyone! I’m so excited the chilly fall weather is coming up and really looking forward to seeing everyone’s fall inspired works around campus. I’m especially excited that this next artist in the spotlight is also a photographer who draws on many inspirations surrounding her. From nature to big cities, she captures shots that define her style of art and photography. She goes by everlasting_photography17 on Instagram and has a wonderful array of styles. So grab your favorite hot beverage and read about…

Major: Photography
Minor: Art History
Graduation Year: 2027
Clubs: Shutterbugs Photography Club
I am majoring in Art because…
I have always had a passion for art but didn’t take it too seriously till my senior year of high school. I chose to major in art to grow my abilities and gain more knowledge about art.
The kinds of things that inspire me are…
people who work hard and do good things for the world. My mom is a huge inspiration for me because she works hard all the time, never gives up and spreads so much kindness into the world.
My favorite art class so far was…
either Basic Photography with Prof Peter Nardone or Color Photography with Prof Sue Jenkins. Each one taught me how to use my camera properly, different types of photography, and aspects of taking a photo instead of just pointing the camera at it.
When I am not in class…
I am either doing homework or hanging out with friends.
The coolest thing I have done at Marywood so far was
participating in an art gallery show because that was the first time I had ever been a part of an art gallery.
When I graduate…
I would like to explore the world and combine it with my love for photography to do travel photography. I’d like to then settle down and have my own studio to work at weddings/events.
I would recommend the Art program at Marywood because…
it is such a great community to be a part of it’s so welcoming and inviting and it’s an awesome program to learn and advance your skills.
What excites me most about Art is…
is how it can make a difference or the final product. Once a piece is finished it can either tell a story or just be something people can admire and hopefully bring joy into someones life.
The most interesting thing I created was…
a giant letter M out of cardboard and with tissue paper created a crumbled-up lily pad pattern on it.

I hope you all enjoyed Meghan and her work this week! I personally enjoyed the cherry blossom, tulip, and above the clouds photos. I really liked the contrasting moods from spring flowers with the dark and mysterious clouds. Who or what inspires you to create? Au revoir! ~Conchita
