Delicious Design

Hello. In this post, I want to briefly share my current and ongoing experience in my Intro to Graphic Design class at Marywood University.

Spring 2025 Semester:

Brief tangent: this semester I am taking two digital art classes: Introduction to Graphic Design and Digital Illustration. So far in both classes, I am enhancing my skills with digital software (most notably Adobe), learning about other digital artists, and of course, I am undergoing various creative projects!

Graphic Design:

My Introduction to Graphic Design class with Professor Sue Jenkins has been a wonderful experience thus far! We just recently concluded our second project. That said, for our second project we created a set of three pictographs, a pair of two pictograms in motion, and one original emoji concept. This project was an excellent, insightful, experience. I learned and utilized new tools in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, enhanced my skills by utilizing both negative and positive space in my designs, and worked with unifying multiple designs with one, cohesive theme.

My Work From Project #2:

Halloween Pictographs:

Of course, knowing me I was going to pick Halloween for my theme 🙂

These designs implement both negative and positive space and are unified with a similar style and theme.

Phantasm Pictograms:

These two were designed fully in Adobe Illustrator. Furthermore, they illustrate the value of line variation and altering line weight to imply motion.

Boston Cream Donut Emoji:

I know… shockingly I chose an emoji concept that does not incorporate horror on any level.

I couldn’t resist illustrating a Boston Cream donut. These are my all-time favorite donuts. Furthermore, this donut specifically holds sentimental value for me. My Poppy was famous for his homemade donuts at his restaurant, this is also my grandfather’s favorite donut, and I have fond memories of my family buying this donut for me from Dunkin whenever I am feeling down.

WRAP UP:

As I continue with the Spring 2025 semester, I am excited to continue furthering my knowledge and skills in the realm of digital art!
