Excited For Fall Semester

Hello everyone! It’s been quite the busy couple of weeks for me, so I haven’t had time to plan anything out for my post. So, this week would be a good week to talk about how excited I am to get back into the studio since I don’t need any preparation for that!

I’ve considered finding a studio near my house so I wouldn’t have to be out of the studio for a few months, but this summer I haven’t gotten around to it. It’s a possibility for next summer, especially if my Etsy shop goes well. But in the meantime, I’ve been consuming lots of pottery content and thinking of things I want to try when I get back. I’ve bought a new notebook to organize my ceramics ideas, which will arrive soon and help me plan my projects while I wait.

I’ve been thinking about trying many different things, especially for my forms. I want to try throwing miniature pottery because it’s a good challenge, but also because it’s so cute and small. I also want to experiment with texture, using slip on the surface of my pots. And mostly, I want to start planning a piece and following through with it because it will help me make pieces I’m proud of. I have lots of little things I want to try while throwing. I also want to use up the glaze I made towards the end of last semester because that aqua blue color was a big hit in the studio. I’m so excited to get back to the studio and start making again!

I could go on forever about all the things I want to make, but that’s all I’m going to share for now. I hope you all have a great week! Let me know what you’re excited about for the upcoming semester, or if you’re not a student, the rest of 2025. Stay creative, everyone!
