Hello! It’s Sephora! I didn’t do any huge art-related things recently; instead I did some smaller activities! Such as…
Working on a PMV (Picture Music Video)
I’m working on a PMV (picture music video), it’s not animated which is why I didn’t call it an animatic. It’s still illustrations put together to work with the music in the background to tell a story. I’m using Paris Paloma’s “Notre Dame” and featuring a character from the comic I’m working on.
The best way to describe the concept is from what I wrote after thumbnailing all the scenes, “An old forgotten building and a young forgotten girl. The building is still and peaceful, while her mind is not.”
I’m excited to try to finish this before summer is over so I can officially say that I completed something art-related during the summer!
The Eyes Art Trend
I don’t usually participate in art trends on social media (I can’t keep up with them), but I found this one fun! You record your eyes moving and switch between your real eyes and an illustrated version which makes for a cool video!
I liked playing around with brushes for each of the illustrations and even playing with styles. For the last illustration, I used a brush that would change the warmth/coolness of the color. It creates visible brushstrokes in the art despite it being digital! The middle illustrations are very cartoony as I was thinking of a game I liked called, “Night in the Woods.” In the top illustration, I wanted to use the halftone brush and use hatching to get certain values.
Since I don’t know how to download my reel, you should check out the result on my Insta @d00medarts!
I’ve been working a lot which takes me away from art I could do, but if there is a will there is a way! I hope you liked reading about my random art quests and I’ll see you again soon!
Sephora, Out! <3
