Have you heard about the online art trading game called Artfight?

Artfight takes place every year, and it runs throughout the entirety of July. During the event, participants choose one of two teams, and they compete against each other. The themes are based on several themes, such as bloom vs wither, or werewolves vs vampires. Participants are able to score points for their teams by creating art of other people’s characters. The type of art categorizes the points, how detailed it is, or even how many characters are featured within the piece.

Seeing the art community come together during July is truly a wonderful experience. It’s a fun event that encourages creativity and inspiration. It allows others to see your original characters and stories, and you have the chance to receive fan art of them. Even friendly fire is allowed (it just means fewer points), so even if you find an interesting character who’s on the same team as you, you can still draw them.

The themes for the year’s competition are voted on by the community, where participants rank the order of themes they wish to see. Even if a theme isn’t picked one year, it is a possibility that it may be picked the next year. As of writing this, the teams for this year have just been revealed. Fossils vs Crystals.

For me personally, this will be my fourth year participating in Artfight. I chose Team Vampires, then Team Stardust, and last year I chose Team Wither. This year, I plan to join Team Crystals. My art has changed a lot since I started, and I’m excited to draw more this year!
