Hello readers, my name is Kailey Rillstone and I am very excited to be the new blogger for the photography category, taking over this role from blogger Antonia. I have a deep love and passion for photography and know that contributing to the blog by sharing my journey and experiences will enrich both my love for the hobby and will help me become a better photographer overall. I was given my first DSRL camera by my mother last Christmas (2024) and was immediately infatuated; finding myself having it everywhere I went.

Portraits, Passions, and People

I started with having my friends model for me to practice and get familiar with my camera, which led to me discovering my appreciation for portrait and fashion photography.

In addition, I have developed my own photography page on social media called: Captured by Kail. Now, I have gotten the opportunity to work with a various families in the area to help make their vision come alive. I eventually plan to expand my page to become an established business collaborating with brands to focus on fashion photography.

Senior Portraits

Senior portraits have given me the opportunity to work with combining my two passions of fashion and portraits in a way that has improved my eye as a photographer. Not only have I gotten more experience in working with the two, but I have also been given the chance to capture a piece of what makes someone unique.

Whether that is the clothing they are wearing, the location that reflects their personality or simply the time of day they choose to shoot. All these elements flow together to show that uniqueness in each person in a simple photograph.
