I chose Marywood because I wanted to feel like I am in a community of people who support each other, especially in art, considering ever since I joined Marywood, I have received endless support from my professors and peers.
I am majoring in Art because I want to be able to create characters and stories to bring them to life. I love to draw characters from my inspirations, which were from Disney, anime, and even Peruvian TV shows. I love art, and I love seeing it in every medium, so I like to create art as well.
When I’m not in class, I love to play video games and draw, but I also work a lot to be able to pay for my art supplies. I also love to spend time with my friends and family.
So far, my favorite art class at Marywood was I loved Painting with Professor Collier Parker, considering it helped me work with color much better than I used to, but the only part I didn’t like was working with oil paint, hehe.
The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood so far was the opportunity to do the Disney College Program, which I totally suggest if you are looking to network with cast members at Disney and someday have the chance to be part of their crew.
When I graduate, I want to pursue a master’s in Art Therapy or even perfect my portfolio for one day to be able to work for Disney again or other major companies.
I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because the professors and students love to support each other in this community, and you can find many opportunities with the people you meet.
