Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. This week, I want to share some general updates and show you a new addition to my ceramics process! First, I posted all the art projects from the past two semesters on my Instagram page. I feel much better now that I’m up to date. You can check it out @jennaking05_art! I’m going to do my absolute best to stay on top of it this semester, and to post more vlog-style videos on both Instagram and TikTok! This way, I’ll be able to document more thoroughly than with only pictures, so stay tuned!
Now, I’m super excited to show you a new addition to my ceramics process: my new journal. I was introduced to Traveler’s Notebooks a few months ago, and I’ve been dying to get my hands on one since. I thought it would be a really great way to document. If you’ve never heard of a traveler’s notebook, it’s basically a group of smaller, thinner notebooks grouped together with an elastic and a leather cover. I thought that, because they have separate sections/notebooks, I’d be able to keep all my ceramics info in one place: one notebook for sketching and ideas, one for glaze experiments, and one for documenting the process of individual pieces or my own notes. Another reason this notebook is a game-changer is that, since the small notebooks aren’t glued to the cover, I can refill it or rearrange them to fit my needs. It definitely takes the pressure off “ruining” the notebook. If sketching and jotting down notes weren’t enough, I am also excited about a mini printer I can use to add visuals to my journal. Especially for glaze experiments and documenting certain glaze techniques, I think it will be extremely beneficial to have a visual. I’ll show you guys what mine looks like and how I’ve set it up.

Things could change as I start using it more, but this is how I see it being useful for now. I’m absolutely obsessed with the cover. It’s a beautiful burgundy purple with a textured floral design. It also came with an anchor charm, which helps me remember which side of the notebook is the front. Inside are a blank notebook, a lined notebook, a graphed notebook, a plastic pouch, and a business-card holder insert. It’s so convenient and so pretty. I also love that I don’t have to carry a separate pencil pouch with the notebook, since the clear pouch holds my supplies. I’m so inspired to come up with ideas and start documenting my process.
Well, that’s all I have for now. I’m impatiently waiting for the semester to begin so I can tell you all about it. Let me know if you’ve ever heard of a traveler’s notebook and if you think it’s something that would be helpful for you! I’m thinking of getting another one for my personal life because I love this one so much! Have a great week, everyone!
