Hey, everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing spring break with your family or on a fun vacation! This week, I’m gonna talk about my next packaging design project, Label Design. For my product, I wanted to do a wine company/label using a wine bottle that I already had.

For my design, I wanted to base it on the Greek god of wine, Dionysus. I did some research on the mythology of the gods and discovered that Dionysus was raised on a mythical mountain called Mount Nysa. I chose to name my wine company Mount Nysa Vineyards and kinda loosely based it on the Greek god. I created an illustration of the mountain surrounded by some clouds and put that in Illustrator to use as my logo. I also wanted to go for an elegant design with Greek accents, so I made an intricate border to put on the label. This design sort of pushes me out of my comfort zone a bit, since I am not used to designing more elegant and simplistic projects. I still have to assemble the physical product, but I did find a wine bottle mockup online to get the full picture of my design. Overall, I am super pleased with how the project came out, and am excited to put it all together later this week!

In my physical product mockup, I plan to paint the bottle neck labels to match the colors of my design, as well as put a small logo of the mountain on top of the cap. I hope everyone had a wonderful rest from classes and is ready to get back into the swing of college life. Have a great week, and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
