Hello. I currently concluded my fourth semester at Marywood University as an illustration major in Marywood University’s Art Department. That said, within my first week of summer break I went on a life changing trip!
Monster Mania Horror Convention:
For my 20th birthday, my parents surprised me with a VIP trip to my first ever convention… it was a horror convention of course. The name of the convention was Monster Mania and it was held during the third weekend of May in Baltimore, MD. This was truly a life changing experience because I was surrounded by countless individuals who “possessed” the same horror passion as me! Everyone was very kind and awesome to talk too; including the guest, workers, vendors, and especially the featured actors.
TERRIFIER Franchise:
The main attention grabber for this convention in particular was the presence of the entire main cast of the hit indie horror franchise TERRIFIER. I am absolutely obsessed with this franchise in particular. The main icon is Art the demonic clown. Clowns are my favorite horror icons and I particularly like the personality of Art the most! However, what makes TERRIFIER stand out amongst the crowd of horror films is it’s immense gore.
Special Effects (Art in Film):
There is absolutely no filter for the disturbing gore in TERRIFIER. From being sawed vertically in half, a shotgun in the face, salt on opened wounds, and all sorts of drawn out torture; every detail is in camera shot. Anyways, as an artist and a horror enthusiast I appreciate the level of detail and time that goes into all the special effects and makeup. Their team is truly talented and is the highlight of the franchise.
Of course, I will not share any disturbing shots from the film; however, I was so fortunate enough to get a photo with Art, in full makeup, while at the convention!

WRAP- UP:
Overall, I had a blast at the convention with my father. I am forever grateful for the life changing birthday experience!
