I chose Marywood because the campus was beautiful. The campus is nice and small so interacting with someone new everyday was more than easy. What Marywood lacks in size, it makes up in style. I chose this school because of the people, everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
I am majoring in Art because I always had a passion for art. Seeing people come up with in all forms of art is just beautiful. I myself enjoy creating new things.I am always looking for new kinds of art because the transformation of art over years is extremely interesting. Having a front row seat to the advancement of the art world just increased my passion for art.
When I’m not in class, I’m working on side projects (not assigned to me) to try and find what exactly about graphic design I enjoy. So far I love all of it. I am always working on trying to expand my horizons. Also when I’m not in class I like exploring downtown Scranton and all the nearby cities looking for new things to do and try.
My favorite art class so far is one I am currently in, 3D. I never worked on 3-D projects before coming to college. I enjoy creating abstract forms of art, it has a sort of appeal.
The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood so far was attending almost all of the Student Activities Crew (SAC) events. I am able to do things/activities I have never done before and meet new people while doing it.
When I graduate I want to use my degree to land a job that I love and enjoy doing. I also want to give back to my community. In addition to those two things I want to travel as well to absorb as much as possible.
I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because Marywood molds your skills so you produce the best work that allows your talent grow. The faculty, administration, staff, and fellow students are friendly and want what’s best for you. Everyone wants to help you to become a stronger artist. The art program has great opportunities, you always know about the latest internships and clubs and competitions that will allow you to expand your resume and learn new things.
