Blogger Role: Arts Administration (formerly Painting)

Major: Art History

Minors: Business, Illustration

I chose Marywood because the very first time I visited the campus I fell in love with the sights, the open atmosphere and pure support that one can feel from the faculty, administrators, and students that were helping run that event. I knew right away that this was a campus I would be able to thrive within.

I am majoring in Art because ever since I was young, Art managed to capture my interest be it in making art or simply learning about it. It’s a passion that will never die.

When I’m not in class, I’m hanging out with my friends, trying out new mediums, delving into the never ending world of Art History or binge watching YouTube.

My favorite art class so far was definitely my first Art History class. Sure it seemed like a chore to memorize dates but I felt as though it was able to pull every student in to a common ground no matter their major.

The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood so far was work in the sculpture studio’s woodshop. As I am not a handy person at all, it was amazing to me that I could work with these huge tools and not lose a finger. Plus, my sculptures ended up looking pretty darn cool!

When I graduate I hope to continue my education as an Art History student and get an internship or job at a museum.

I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because the teachers are all so encouraging and really believe that each student has immense talent within them! Not only that but the students you will work beside some of the happiest and friendliest people one can hope to meet.
