Minor: Graphic Design

I chose Marywood because it has so much room for opportunity. The campus has a lot of nature, and the classes are super fun and enriching.

I am majoring in Art because I love the process of creating, and I would love to form a career based around my passions. My love for the arts, and all of the different forms of create has only grown since I was only a child.

When I’m not in class, I am playing volleyball, spending time with nature, and sketching or making prints!

So far, my favorite art class at Marywood was my Book Making class with Christine Medley. This class taught me so many new techniques, and things I have never learned or seen before! Such as accordion books, book cloth, and so much more. I still currently make my own sketchbooks or other books that involve lessons from this class!

The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood so far was make handmade paper! The process was so unique and hands-on. It was something I never expected to learn, but had so much fun when I did! I was able to put flowers, leaves and sticks into the paper, as well as design the colors within the paper!

When I graduate I want to use my passions for the arts and form a career in which I can express the things I love to create, and the messages I want to spread! I am very open minded and excited when it comes to graduation, and my plans afterwards.

I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because there are so many opportunities with different types of classes. I have taken classes at Marywood that I thought I would not enjoy and they end up teaching me new passions and new techniques! There is such a large variety of students and professors that allow for creativity when in the works of making your masterpiece!
