Hello lovelies, I hope everyone enjoyed their week! Lately at work, I have had a lot of customers who needed either new branding, or they wanted a change. Although I have branding already, I am thinking about changing my branding. When I created my designs and logo last year I was in a different place and you can see that in the branding. As I embark on my new adventure, I figured why not share my design process with everyone!
To begin, I create a list of 5-10 adjectives that I want my brand to be described as. For me I want to be defined as feminine, chic, modern, bright & sophisticated. With those adjectives in mind I then create a mood board. My mood boards consist of various pictures and vibes I want out of my brand. I put fonts I feel a connection with, photos of a style I like for example white shiplap. Next, I think of a general color palette that would fit my description. A lot of designers would not agree with me thinking of colors before the form, but sometimes the form I create is inspired by a color pallet. Once my mood board is created I quickly sketch a few ideas on any thing near me. When I find something I like, I jump on my Mac and away I go!
My most important step is asking for suggestions/opinions. Of course, I take all of the things with a grain of salt but when you ask the right people for guidance you can create something extraordinary. For me, I always look to my professors and fellow students. These are the people that know us the best and will make sure you are on the right track.
Stay tuned as I post updates of my newest branding journey, I would also love to hear your process when designing!
