It’s nearing the end of the semester already!? It comes as a huge shock to me too but with everything coming to a close I wanted to share one of the last few projects from Character Design!

For this assignment we had to create a mascot! Or in my case, two mascots!

For mine I had first started with Herbert Hawt Dawg and elements like his little hat were suggestions from my classmates! Showing your work to others and gaining input as you go is extremely helpful to the creative process and also it is quite fun to show others silly doodles and see it develop into a complete idea!

Paul Pretzil of Paul Pretzil’s Pretzels was because I had thought about how the actual snack looks like they are doing some sort of pose and then I felt that monkeys would be the best fit for a silly pose! You may be wondering “but Esther he’s just standing there! Where’s the funny pose!?” And that would be because I had thought about spider monkeys while designing him and those little guys have so many grey hairs, I felt it made sense to have my mascot be older and a little tired out from all his work selling pretzels!

I had so much fun with this project and on that note, I’ve had so much fun with this blog!! My time as a blogger has come to an end and I would love to welcome Isaiah as the next animation blogger who will be taking over!!!!
