NICCOLO, created by a group of graduating students at GOBELINS Paris, is a 2025 short film depicting a musician’s pursuit for fame.
This film is only five minutes long! I highly advise you to view it:
“A gifted musician’s pursuit of fame traps him in the audience’s demands—until a broken violin forces him to choose between hollow applause and true artistic freedom.
A metaphorical tale of ambition and its consequences, Niccolo follows Niccolo, a talented musician consumed by a relentless desire for fame. As he climbs the ladder of success, he becomes a prisoner of the audience’s adoration, sacrificing his well-being for their applause.”
Within the short film, we see Niccolo discover his passion for music and the adoration he gains from his audience. As he rises in prestige, he is faced with an audience who does not truly appreciate his work. As he escapes, he is enveloped in a liberating white outfit, signaling his freedom from his artistic shackles.

It’s also cool to note that Niccolo Paganini was a real violinist born in 1782. This film is likely based around his immense success.

This film, although short, is absolutely beautifully animated. The team who directed and created this film consists of six people: Clémentine DI PRIZIO, David FLORIAN, Axelle GRANET, Sirui LIU, Hugo MICHALET, and Njolai PAVHOMIUS.

Concept work, official art, and animation progress can be found on the film’s official Instagram. Here you can also find the social media of every individual artist working on this project.
Overall this is an extraordinary artistic feat. The aesthetics of this film are beyond amazing. I am especially impressed by Niccolo’s design. He has such a striking silhouette. His facial features are recognizably solemn and striking. Overall, I highly recommend keeping an eye on these artists, as they most definitely have very bright futures ahead of them.
