Hello dear readers! Its me Sephora, and as of writing this spring break has come to a close. I wish it was longer, but alas, I must finish this semester. If any of you had spring break I hope you all had a fun and/or relaxing time!
Anyway, time to introduce the student in the spotlight this week! She’s yet another wonderful photographer who is passionate about her work and you can certainly see that in her photographs!
Antonia Summa
A sophmore photography major, Antonia is passionate about her work!
Major: Photography
Graduation Year: 2026
I am majoring in Art because…
It is something I’m passionate about. I have been passionate about art my whole life and it is something that I want to do for the rest of my life. I’ve always known my whole life that I wanted to pursue a career in art.
The kinds of things that inspire me are…
Making people happy from my work. I want my work to bring joy to people and to inspire them as well.
My art favorite class so far was…
Color Photography with Prof Sue Jenkins. I enjoyed this class because I learned how color can be an important factor of art, like learning color theory. This class helped push us to think outside the box and to learn new methods.
When I am not in class…
I’m taking photos or sometimes drawing in my sketchbook. If I’m not doing those things, I’m usually working on school projects as well.
The coolest thing I have done at Marywood so far was…
Taking photos of the Bachelor when he came to campus for a mental health event. He then tagged my photography account when he posted the photos that I took.
When I graduate…
I hope to become a concert photographer. I’m a big fan of music and would love to combine both music and art in my work.
I would recommend the Art program at Marywood because…
It is a very loving community. I have made great friends through this program and met really great professors. I have learned so much from this program and I’m excited to gain more knowledge from it.
What excites me most about Art is…
The way people can express themselves. Each person has their own unique style and that style represents their personality. People can have such unique ways of telling a story through their art and that’s what I love about art.
Here are some amazing photographs from Antonia!
The closeup details and the use of color are amazing! I would love to see her photograph a concert one day, Im sure the results would be breathtaking.
I hope you all enjoyed learning about Antonia, I sure did! I’ll see you all in April! (yes! spring is here!)
Sephora, Out! <3
