A while back, I had purchased a Wacom Intuos small digital drawing tablet with Bluetooth, and after using it for a few months I thought it would be good to reflect on how it has improved my workflow and quality of art.
Initially I purchased the tablet for about $70 on amazon, which was the cheapest one I could find as many may know Wacom tablets can be quite pricey. I really love using it for just about anything I am doing as it makes me feel more “professional” in a way even when I am just messing around on my laptop. Another thing that I love is the little noise the pen makes as I drag it on the tablet’s surface, which sort of resembles the sound of pencil on paper…there is something about it that just scratches my brain. I also feel that the quality of the projects I have worked on using my Wacom are an improvement in comparison to my work that I had done using my little Mac trackpad. Since I am able to draw more easily and freely using this tool, and I have been able to finish projects faster and more efficiently!
As for the things I do not love about my Wacom, I do not have much to report on. I will say that mine is a bit small which results in me sometimes having to readjust my hand and grip on the pen to work, as I will try to drag the pen off of the tablet itself without looking. This is not really a complaint though as I knew how big the tablet was before I purchased it, just something to think about if I ever get another one. I also do not think the Bluetooth feature is the best and can be a bit laggy at times, which leads me to use the cord most of the time. Besides that, I am super grateful for it and recommend it to anyone who wants to try using a drawing tablet without a huge financial commitment.
