One of the biggest graphic design projects I have worked on so far this semester tasked me with creating a brand identity for a local non-profit. This included a logo redesign, stationery set, website design, and a logo application mockup. I decided to choose a non-profit called TLAC or “To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc.” because I was not a huge fan of their current logo, as non-profit organizations do not have huge budgets for logos and brand identities, especially when they are first being established.
TLAC is an organization that rescues and rehomes surrendered and abandoned dogs of all breeds and ages, which I also thought was an amazing cause that deserved a nice logo. For my logo concept, I knew I wanted to design a logomark that could communicate the purpose of the non-profit clearly and accurately, so I chose a combined symbol of a home and a dog to represent their mission, with their organization name accompanying it below the symbol.

After I had finished the logo, I ventured on to the next order of business, which was the website design. I am also currently taking a website design class this semester, so I was happy to have some prior knowledge of Figma software before creating the website. Then, I moved on to the stationary part of the assignment which included an envelope design, business card, and letterhead. I stuck with a blue color palette as the original non-profit logo and website consisted of blues and teals, and I wanted to stay somewhat true to their original identity. I also utilized many of the elements within my website design in order to have consistency and have each piece of the brand identity clearly related. I really loved how each final piece came out and I am planning to email the non-profit with my files in hopes that they choose to use my logo redesign.
