100 Years of Art

For those of you who don’t know, we have 3 art galleries here on Marywood’s campus: The Maslow Study Gallery, The Suraci Gallery, and The Mahady Gallery (plus there’s the Kresge Gallery, in the lobby of the Insalaco building, which often features work of current students). This weekend the first exhibition of the semester was opened in the Mahady Gallery; M.C. Richards Centering Life and Art. This show celebrates 100 years of the work and the art of this inspirational artist and will be on display Sep 10, 2016 – Oct 26, 2016.

M.C. Richards was an educator, visual artist, poet, potter, and author. Through this exhibition we are able to see some of the many contributions she has made in art and literature.

While working with the gallery this weekend, I got an opportunity to view the contents of this exhibition. The pieces are breathtaking! I suggest you make some time to visit the Mahady Gallery, experience it for yourself!
