2025 Scholastic Art Awards Gallery

Currently on view in the Mahady Gallery here at Marywood University, there are several artworks displayed, representing the winners of the Scholastic Art Gold and Silver Key awards, as well as several Honorable Mentions.

What Are the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards?

The Scholastic Awards were established in 1923 to honor art and writing achievements by students from grades 7-12. It is noted that students are awarded based on originality, technical skill, and “the emergence of a personal vision.”

This year, the Everhart Museum received more than 400 artwork submissions representing 40 schools across 15 counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Here at Marywood, there is artwork displayed from several schools, ranging from Lakeland Jr-Sr high, North Pocono, Abington, and Mid Valley, to name a few. All of the artworks here display a high level of both creative and technical skill.

It was pleasant for me to view the work, as I recognized a few artists as people I went to school with. I am so proud of them and the other young artists. It is refreshing to see young talent grow and flourish.
