Oftentimes when you finish a project or a piece you’ve been working on, you tend to think it’s totally done with and you won’t need to revisit it ever again, and for many works this could be the case! However sometimes the gap between you “finishing” something to when you eventually see your own work again can be critical to finding details you might have missed, or not thought about at the time of working on it!
In July, I had drawn this silly little bear/cat critter that was inspired by me almost dropping a cake slice because I tripped over air.

This was my thumbnail, and I drew my piece and then totally forgot about it until recently, when it clicked to me I never included the little rug our friend is tripping over!

To add the little rug, I had gone for a loose style to mainly practice drawing using shapes instead of relying on line work, but I let myself be loose with the shapes as this was mainly for practice, but also a good lesson in occasionally revisiting old art so you can see what you can touch up, add, subtract, or even totally redraw the work!
I hope everyone’s been having a lovely week, and I’m wishing everyone the best of luck on your midterms!
