This week in my General Illustration class, we’ve been making progress on our amusement parks! Currently, I have my ticket and my billboard complete, and my final map just needs some line work to pull everything together, and then I can move on to the most exciting part; Building a ride!

My map needs some work! My theme park is called the LazyPark! Based on the TV show Lazytown, I tried to have the rides be inspired by the characters of the show and try and keep the main goal of the show which is to get kids excited to run around and play! I wanted there to be plenty of open space along with some fun activities.

The billboard! In the series there are no straight lines in the town’s architecture, or anything really, everything from the buildings to the walls to even books and paper are all wavy and bendy! I wanted to keep that idea in my billboard so that’s why I chose to have it be all bendy. You may be wondering who that little rooster is, and I’m more than happy to explain!

This little guy on the ticket is Hannin! He wasn’t in the 2004 show, but he was in the 1999 play, and while he’s not featured in the final show he still serves as the town’s mascot as you can see him little letter seals in the mayor’s office if you keep your eyes peeled!
Next week I will be showing my final ride, which I’ll keep a surprise until then!
Have an awesome week!
