Art In Nature

Hello, reader. Oftentimes when someone thinks of art, his or her mind immediately goes to something man-made, whether that is a painting on canvas, clay sculpture, digital illustration, etc. However, art does not necessarily have to be made by humans… it could be found in nature.

Watkins Glen and Ithaca New York

Just recently, I had the pleasure of going on a family hiking trip to upstate New York. During the trip, we stayed at an Air B&B and we spent one day exploring Watkins Glen, and one day voyaging through Ithaca. While one our hiking expeditions, we encountered absolutely stunning scenes of nature. Some of the waterfall were breathtaking masterpieces of art.

Rainbow Falls

Location: Watkins Glen, New York

Rainbow Falls was nothing short of impressive. Guests were able to voyage through the gorge and be up in person with the falls… there was even a little splash zone! the mere beauty of the gorge that was sculpted by the water over millions of years of erosion was stunning.

Ithaca Falls

Location: Ithaca, New York

The photo does not do this waterfall any justice… it was massive!!! Moreover, the sound and sight of the rushing water was mesmerizing. I could just sit there for hours and take in the relaxing beauty of the falls.

Taughannock Falls:

Location: Taughannock Falls State Park, New York

This was the largest fall that we witnessed during our trip. While standing there appreciating the falls, we were delighted by the mist generated by the falls. This was refreshing on the hot, sunny day.

WRAP-UP:

Overall, my purpose for this blog post is to illustrate how art does not have to be something made by humans. In fact, like the breathtaking falls in New York, nature possesses some of the most beautiful displays of art that no human could ever replicate.
