Art Therapy Symposium: Exploring Personal Narratives

Hello everyone, there is a special event coming to Marywood soon, it is an Art Therapy Symposium: Exploring Personal Narratives through Paper-making in Museum-based Art Therapy. The event is taking place on March 27, 2020 in the Upper Dinning Hall, Nazareth Student Center from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The symposium will have two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The Schedule is as follows:

9 am – Welcome and Introduction

9:15 am – Museum-based Art Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Vision

10:15 am – break

10:30 am – Exploring Research into the Use of the Museum for Individuals with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Memory Care Issues

11:20 am – Exploring Identity and Personal Narrative through Paper making

12 pm – lunch.

1 pm – Overview of Paper making Processes

1:20 pm – Experiential 1: Museum Object Response Art with Poetry Gems

2:20 pm – break

2:45 pm – Experiential 2: Narrative Book Making and Journal Writing (Reminiscence)

3:45 pm – Small Group Discussion

4:15 pm – Reflection and Closing of Program

4:30 pm – Program Concludes.
