I chose Marywood because it’s a local university, and my grandmother went here. not to mention it fits all of my ideals and the community here is great! This turned out to be a wonderful decision because I’ve made so many friends and had so many unique experiences.

I’m majoring in art because it has always been my passion. ever since i was a kid i was drawing. As I grew older, I found it to be one of my favorite pastimes. I love being able to take the mental image in my mind, and to be able to transfer it onto either the paper or the screen. In addition, I love all of the design work that goes into video games, so I want to be a part of that!

When I’m not in class, I’m either playing video games, listening to music, drawing, or all of the above. I love to hang out with my friends as they always know how to make me feel happy and alive. I’m always working on improving myself whether it be my talents or my mental health, practicing, or going on a walk to connect to nature.

My favorite art class at Marywood so far is my Digital Illustration class. All of the projects that we work on in that class are so engaging and entertaining, and the class is super supportive as well

The coolest thing I’ve done at Marywood since starting my undergraduate degree was getting the opportunity to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC in November 2024! I don’t travel a lot so to be able to go to New York and see different artworks in a variety of mediums was extremely entertaining and inspiring

When I graduate I plan to become a visual artist for videogames as a concept artist! I always enjoy going back after I finish a video game and looking through its artbook. Seeing the initial sketches and paintings that inspired the creation of the game is always one of my favorite parts of finishing a game, and one day, I want to have my art in one of those books.

I recommend the art program because it is truly a welcoming community. All of the students and the professors are extremely supportive and welcoming. In this environment, your artistic talents can truly flourish and grow! I’ve met so many amazing people and already I have improved my skills due to the overwhelming support!
