California Adventure

I went on a trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles with my friend in the beginning of 2017, and I’ll share what we did and the sights we saw!

My friend and I flew into San Fransisco and rented a car so we could see the Golden Gate Bridge (it was beautiful) and some other small sights up north. The first place we stopped to eat was In-N-Out burger! I got the animal fries and the grilled cheese, which was surprisingly tasty. After spending the day there, we started driving down to Los Angeles. It was an overnight drive, and pretty long and tiring. We were staying at my cousin’s house in LA so as soon as we got there, we got a good night’s sleep for the next day!

On our trip we also went to places like Venice beach and Santa Monica but my all time favorite memory was going to Disneyland for the day! It’s only a half hour outside of LA and it is well worth the drive and the price of a ticket (about 100$!). We got there early in the morning so we could stay all day (which we did!) went on almost every ride in the park.

Another one of our stops was Hollywood! We went to a live show of Jimmy Kimmel, and saw the walk of fame, too! One of our goals was to hike up behind the Hollywood sign (which kind of happened). We got lost, and ended up only getting pretty close to the sign before we decided to find our way back to the car.

The last day, we wanted to see some art, so we found a little museum in Pasadena called the Norton Simon Museum. I was pleasantly surprised that there were several Van Gogh paintings residing in this museum. The first one that caught my eye was “Portrait of the Artist’s Mother”. It was beautiful to see in person. There was also “The Mulberry Tree” which was also beautiful to see. It made my day seeing some of my favorite artist’s pieces that I’ve never seen in person before.

I really enjoyed my trip and can’t wait to go back someday! I highly recommend visiting California, there are lots of things to do and sights to see!
