Chalk Paint Workshop

After what seemed to be a perpetual season of winter and bitter cold, there is finally a silver lining; the end of the semester. With this accomplishment we are rewarded with spring and according to the news, good weather to follow. There is no more time for snoozing alarms because we’re too cold to get out of bed.  Those patches of sunlight that warm our skin will soon be everywhere and the color that has fallen asleep is on its way of returning. There is no better way to celebrate the warmth of the earth than by embracing nature through art and creating homes for tiny plant life to dwell.

Zummo’s Cafe in Scranton is aware of this and has created an event called Chalk Paint Workshop. As a local, I often go to Zummo’s when I need to emerge myself in a different atmosphere to be more productive. With cozy couches and a laid back vibe, it feels like you’re right at home, just without all the interruptions and distractions.

The two hour event takes place right in their cafe and will be a workshop instructed by the owner and operator of SAVVY HOME “All Things Pretty” – Jena Romanini. As described on the flyer, you’ll be given a normal terra-cotta pot and will be using chalk paint to design and recreate an average pot into a French inspired flower home.

The chalk paint is environmentally safe, comes in a variety of colors, has a quick dry time, and can be used on a multitude of surfaces. If you find what you have learned helpful during the workshop you can easily take your new creative knowledge and apply it to any average household item that needs a creative makeover.

All the materials will be provided for this event and therefore you must purchase a ticket at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chalk-paint-workshop-tickets-45143535530

The event is BYOB and the cafe will be open as well during the workshop.

Also! Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is just around the corner and no mom has ever turned down a handmade gift!
