Without having my studio space it is a little harder to keep working on larger canvas over Christmas break. So paper becomes a little more convenient to use instead. I really enjoy working on paper and experimenting with new ideas concerning color and line. It’s interesting to just paint whatever comes to mind without putting any restrictions on yourself. Even if your making work thats not really that good; your still allowing yourself to brainstorm like you would in a sketchbook. I wouldn’t say any of these paintings are really that good but I’ve really been spending some time analyzing them. I’m trying to recognize what the strengths and weaknesses are and what color, line, or shape combinations I can keep in mind for future paintings.
