Color Photography

For my first project in my color photography class, we are doing “Spot Color”. I decided to go with a red/valentines day theme for these shoots!

The assignment was to capture photos that had one color that stuck out from the rest.

Madi Grose – Roses

For Madi, I chose roses! Madi truly is one of the happiest, brightest people I know, so it was a no-brainer to chose flowers to help enunciate Madi’s beauty. I was able to capture this first image with a fast shutter speed, and I’m super pleased with how it turned out – even if it took plenty of tries to get it just right 😅.

Kaya Pickering – Ribbons

For Kaya, we chose the red ribbon as the pop of color, and in some of the photos, lipstick as well. I think Kaya’s beauty might pop more than the red but, I tried my best! All jokes aside, I also am obsessed with how these turned out. I was able to encapsulate the exact vibe I was going for and was able to deliver some photos to my wonderful roommate.

Lilianna Damian – Kisses

Finally, we did lipstick kisses for Damian. While I feel as if the red in the lipstick isn’t as bright as the other photos, the kisses still stand out significantly, and they really draw the emotion that the photos are encapsulating.

I’m super pleased with how all of these photos turned out. I am having so much fun with this class, and I am so grateful to have such beautiful friends to take photos of!!

Thanks for reading!
