Last week I challenged myself to make a piece using only the warm colors of red, orange, yellow, and brown! This week I’m doing the same challenge but with the cool colors, which I prefer anyway.

The cool colors are as follows: green, blue, and purple. The end of the rainbow. One less colors than the warm colors.

The first thing that came to mind when I covered my canvas in blue was ocean scenery, and green algae. So that’s exactly what I did!

I began making a home for a green mermaid. For some reason I didn’t even feel the need to use purple as I was just having fun with the different tones of blues and greens. I added white to give light at the surface of the water.

There you have it, my finished cool color mermaid project!
