Displaying My Artwork

Hey everyone! Today I am going to tell you about a very cool opportunity that I was given to display my artwork recently. I hope that you enjoy reading all about it!

A few months ago, I began working at a new restaurant in downtown Scranton called Fork N Bowl. We serve fresh bowls made with a variety of bases, veggies and proteins to our customers daily! Being a new restaurant in the area, we do all that we can to stay involved in the events that are going on downtown, and one such event is Scranton’s First Friday.

First Friday Scranton is an event where the businesses downtown display the work of local artists, and as the name implies it is held on the first Friday of each month. When my boss asked me if I would like to feature my artwork in Fork N Bowl for August 2022’s First Friday, I immediately said yes as I have been hoping that I would find an opportunity to put some of my art on display. In total, I have 9 paintings on display. It was great to see people come into the restaurant to look at my art during the event, and I found it very interesting to talk to people about their personal takeaways after viewing my work.

A painting of two green bottles, a red cone, a white carton and a white bottle, painted with a technique that emphasizes different color notes within the objects. The painting is hanging on a brick wall

Two paintings, the one on the left of a Somalian woman looking off to the left and wearing a white tank top. The painting on the left has a dark background. The painting on the right is a still life utilizing an exaggerated style with brighter colors.

I feel very honored to have been able to display my artwork for this event, and I am very thankful to my bosses for allowing me to put my art up on the walls of their restaurant. I was a bit nervous prior to the event, but the support that I was given from not only my bosses but also from the members of the community who showed up to the event calmed my nerves. If you would like to view my work, it will be on display for the next month at Fork N Bowl on Penn Ave in downtown Scranton.

Thank you all for reading this post! This was a great opportunity for me and I hope that some of you will come check out my work while its up if you feel so inclined! Check back soon for more posts from me and my fellow bloggers 🙂
