Marywood Univerisity’s Zeta Omicron’s organization is preparing for the 2nd Annual Empty Bowl Project. One of our Ceramics students here at Marywood University and also a fellow blogger Emma Pilon brought up the idea of a community service project last year and it was a big success. So this year we started planning in the beginning of the semester to make it better than last year! The club members have already made over 140 bowls for the First Friday show that will be taking place on April 1, 2016 in downtown Scranton, PA. The point of the Empty Bowl Project is to raise money to donate to the Meals of Wheels of NEPA. When someone comes in and buys one of the homemade bowls they are helping a great cause.
Last year we sold ALL of the bowls that were made! It was such a success last year that we can’t wait to see the results this year! Stay tuned for another post that will come in April updating you on how we did!
