Last weekend I got to photograph my first music festival! The music festival was the All Good Things are Happening Festival in Scranton, PA. The festival was created by James Barrett, and 2025 marks the fourth year that the festival has been hosted. I asked James if I could photograph the event, and he said yes and gave me a press pass.

The festival ran from 12 pm to 9 pm, and I stayed the whole time. I wanted to get as much of an experience as I could. I was happy that most of the festival was during the day because my camera struggles with dark lighting. I shoot with my Canon EOS Rebel T7, so I am sometimes limited by dark lighting. When editing these photos, I played around with color grading to improve my skills, and I fell in love with the look. I feel that it’s more dramatic with the subtle colors of the oranges and blues.

Eleven artists were performing at the festival, and I was able to photograph throughout their sets. The only set that I had to follow the three-song rule was for The Menzingers. This was my first time photographing a gig where I could only photograph the first three songs, and I was nervous. I only had my 18-55 mm and 75-300 mm lenses with me, so I had to quickly switch between them during their set.
By the end of the night, I had an amazing time at the festival, and I hope to return again for next year’s festival.
