Foundation Exhibition 2019

Hello everyone! I want to tell you about the awesome show going on at Marywood. It is an exhibition displaying art from Marywood’s art foundation students of 2018 to 2019. The artwork displayed in the exhibition is selected by art department faculty during the foundation art students portfolio review. The show is open to the public and will be on display from September 2nd to the 27th.

It was great to see so many students come to support each other by coming to the show. Walking around I was very impressed with the work of the students and I found myself enjoying the various kinds of art on display. There were some pieces that caught my eye and I’m excited to see what the students do next.

This painting called “Patterned Lion” by Kathryn Dawe is awesome and I like how she uses the patterns and colors to create the mane of the lion. It is very inspiring.

This sculpture by Manon Riley definitely caught my eye the first time I saw it. I absolutely love the way the sculpture is painted. The face is so nicely done and the blue is beautiful. The way the artist made the tail for the peacock is very creative. I can appreciate the amount of time spent on creating this piece of art.

This piece of art done by Nicholas Arcarese got my attention because of all of the color in the artwork. The colored pencils are nicely done and I love the variety of the figures.

If you have a chance to come see the show you won’t be disappointed. See you there!
