From “I Do” to a celebration of life long memories

Last August, I was given an opportunity unlike any I had experienced before. My Aunt Arlania asked me to photograph her wedding, and without any hesitation I said yes. Despite not having any experience with wedding photography I felt honored and excited that she trusted me to capture one of the most important days of her life. Taking this opportunity gave me the chance to challenge myself as a photographer in a way I never had before. Not only did I end the night with new skills and valuable experience, but I also walked away with lifelong memories that I will cherish forever.

The big day began in the bridal dressing room, which was filled with excitement and chaos as everyone prepared to walk down the aisle. From my little cousins running around the room with excitement to the bridesmaids helping each other zip up their dresses, the atmosphere set the tone for a day that would never be forgotten.

First came the flower girls, the bride’s beautiful daughters, Cadence and Taylor. Then came the bridesmaids, made up of her lifelong friends and sisters. Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. The bride stepped out, radiating beauty with every step she took down the aisle. As she met her husband-to-be, Joseph, time seemed to slow down as the emotions of the moment began to sink in. As someone who has had the privilege of watching my aunt and Joseph’s relationship blossom over the years, it was incredibly special to witness the love they share and see them make that lifelong commitment to one another.

From the tears of emotion to the exchange of vows, rings, and the couples kiss, the room was filled with joy as friends and family celebrated together. As glasses were raised in a heartfelt toast, it was clear how much love surrounded the couple. We danced the night away, and the smiles on the bride and groom’s faces were ones I will never forget. Looking back, I am grateful not only to have witnessed such a special day, but also to have captured memories that my aunt and uncle will cherish for years to come.

If you can get married anywhere what location would you choose?

Thanks for the read!
