This week I discovered an video by Insider Art called Restoring old paintings. I found it very satisfying to see the paintings being cleaned. They were being restored by the conservator Julian Baumgartner. I really love how he explained how every painting is different and how he has to examine each one differently before he tries to clean off the old varnish. I also think he is very good at retouching paintings, it’s like they were new at the end! It’s a very interesting video and I never really thought of the process of restoring old paintings.

Since I came across this video I been watching more of their art videos. So I might talk about the other videos I find next week when I find out more information!!
