Hello everyone! My name is Caitlin Ryerson, and I’m the new Photography blogger! I am very excited to post interesting information involving Photography and my projects here at Marywood! I thought as my first post, I would introduce myself.
To start, I am a junior photography major. I have always been interested in photography, and when I was in High School I got to take a Black and White Film class. I loved processing my photos in the darkroom, and working with film and the chemicals. It always amazed me when I put my exposed photo paper in the developer and saw my photo come alive, and I knew I wanted to continue photographing as a career. Throughout my life, I continued to Photograph which lead me to many doors of opportunity. After graduating, I would love to be a photojournalist, and during the fall semester, I was able to take a Photojournalism class! After working on the projects and learning more about what else you can do as a photojournalist, like traveling, I was very much interested.
Here are a few pictures I’ve taken, to show you a bit of my style. The first image is a portrait of a student with a mask on, taken for my Intermediate photography class. I was doing portraits inspired by a well-known photographer Richard Avedon. The second image I took at the Dunmore Cemetery during a trip for my Alternative Digital class to photograph details and architecture. The last image is from my Photojournalism class, at an event on campus which our class went to and respectfully took pictures.
I am excited to continue blogging and share my journey as a Photographer! I am very excited to show and tell you about next semester’s projects and club activities that I have joined!
