Knights of Guinevere Announcement

Glitch Productions, creators of popular series The Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones, is coming out with their first 2D animated show, Knights of Guinevere!

Princess Laying in Flowers

To provide some background, Glitch Productions was established in 2017 by two brothers. Their goal was to innovate Western indie animation. To say the least, they’ve succeeded. They’ve collaborated with massive companies like Hot Topic, Epic Games, and Netflix. They created a merch company, The Amazing Digital Circus (TADC) has a café in Japan, and they have their own TADC manga. They currently have five shows under their belt, with a new one, The Knights of Guinevere (TKG), hopefully coming out with a pilot episode late this year.

TKG was created by Dana Terrace (creator of The Owl House), John Bailey Owen (Scholastic author and a writer on The Owl House), and Zach Marcus (writer and storyboard artist for Star vs. the Forces of Evil and a story writer on The Owl House). Up until now, Glitch Productions has only created 3D animated shows. Their most popular one, TADC, has impressive rigging and animation for its characters. It translates 2D rubber-hose animation techniques onto these 3D models in such a remarkable way. Despite their departure from 3D, they aren’t straying from their exploration of sci-fi themes. Despite the cutesy thumbnail and opening, TKG will be a sci-fi psychological thriller. From the trailer, it would appear that the main character is stuck in a simulation of sorts (sounds a little familiar…).

Princess in Reality

To say the least, the hype is palpable. There are a couple of reasons for this. Number one, the creators of the show have an amazing track record for well-written and innovative shows. Number two, they are no longer restricted by massive companies like Disney. Their shows are no longer at risk of censorship or sudden cancellation. Number three, Glitch Productions also pumps out high-quality shows with great writing. Because they’re an indie company, their focus is on creating the best content they can. Their team is comprised of around 100 employees. Many of which you can find on social media where they share their contributions to the show. These productions are made from passion, not out of greed. And finally, the show appears to have an interesting concept of a fairytale setting wrapped up in the horrors of a simulation.

Check out Glitch Production’s YouTube channel where all their shows and content are posted for free. They also have a website with more information on their company, what they do, and their shows.

(Crew-members have also been posting fanart and behind the scenes stuff on Twitter! Keep an eye out!)
